Bears Announce Major Colston Loveland News Before Giants Game

The Chicago Bears are coming off an emotional win in what was a back-and-forth game against the Cincinnati Bengals. While Chicago seemed to be easily in control at one point in the fourth quarter, the Bengals scored twice and regained the lead. However, they weren’t ready for Caleb Williams to find Colston Loveland for a 58-yard game-winning touchdown, also Loveland’s second TD of the game. That ultimately propelled Chicago to a hard-fought 47-42 win and a 5-3 record. They’ll next play the New York Giants, a team struggling after running back Cam Skattebo’s season-ending injury. While the Bears have some key injuries, they also received significant news about their tight end, Loveland. The NFL named the Bears’ rookie out of Michigan the NFC Offensive Player of the Week. He finished the Bears’ Week 9 game with six receptions for 118 yards and two touchdowns, including that game-winning touchdown. Loveland, the Bears’ No. 10 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, has racked up 234 yards and two touchdowns on 17 receptions this season. .@colstonlovelan1 has arrived ‼️ pic.twitter.com/idk9NDTWLG— Chicago Bears (@ChicagoBears) November 5, 2025 Loveland stepping up for the Bears against the Bengals was huge, especially since the team lost its star tight end, Cole Kmet, in the game. Kmet caught one pass and, after getting hit near the 50-yard line, was slow to get up, ultimately getting ruled out of the game with a concussion. As of this writing, Kmet isn’t on the Bears’ injury report, but that could always change before their Week 10 matchup. The Bears will host Jaxon Dart and the Giants on Sunday, and are currently favored to win by 3.5 points at various sportsbooks. Although Loveland is still a rookie and doesn’t necessarily possess the same skills as Kmet, he’ll likely need to step up as a significant part of the offense if Kmet doesn’t play.
