By DayakDaily Team KUCHING, Oct 31: The Ministry of Transport Sarawak (MOTS) welcomes Batik Air’s new Kota Kinabalu to Kuching route starting Dec 15, which is expected to provide greater convenience and connectivity between the capitals of Sabah and Sarawak. Minister for Transport Sarawak Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin expressed his appreciation to Batik Air chief executive officer Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy and his team for their continuous commitment to expanding air connectivity to and within Sarawak. “This new route will not only strengthen business and tourism ties but also provide greater convenience for travellers between major cities in East Malaysia,” he said in a statement today. The new Kota Kinabalu–Kuching–Kota Kinabalu (BKI–KCH–BKI) service will operate daily. He said improved Kuching and Kota Kinabalu connectivity will boost Sarawak’s economy, tourism and regional ties under Sarawak’s Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030. Lim said that ministry will continue to work closely with airlines, airport operators, and tourism agencies to facilitate more direct routes and increased flight frequencies to Sarawak, ensuring the State remains well-connected regionally and internationally. — DayakDaily
