Barcelona are already set for a relative discount on Marcus Rashford but could be in line to save even more money. The Spanish club are able to sign England international Rashford for around £26million next summer , when his current loan deal ends, but Manchester United could play a part in that sum coming down further. That's because Ruben Amorim's side have been linked with a swoop for Brazil star Vitor Roque. If you're wondering how that affects Barcelona , it relates to a sell-on clause that could net them millions. Barca signed Roque from Atletico Paranaense in 2023 but sold him to Palmeiras 18 months later. In addition to the £22.4million fee they received - a record for Brazil's Serie A - they are understood to have included a 20 per cent sell-on clause. Roque, now 20, was one of the highest scorers in Brazil's top flight last season with 13 goals. That has prompted talk of a return to Europe, with Sports Illustrated (via Football Espana ) naming United, Chelsea and Tottenham as potential buyers. A fee of €50m has been mooted, with Barca entitled to €10m (£8.8m) of that total. That would effectively amount to a discount of roughly one third on an already low fee for Rashford, a player previously considered a £100m talent . Rashford has shown promising signs during the early part of his Barcelona loan. He has six goals and seven assists across 14 matches in Catalunya, including Champions League braces in victories over Newcastle and Olympiacos. He scored his second La Liga goal over the weekend as Barca beat Elche to stay second in the table, but manager Hansi Flick is still expecting more from the 28-year-old . "When you see the chances he has, one or two goals more will be good, also for him," Flick said. "But we can be happy with him, of course. I am very happy with him. He can play on this level and I am happy he shows it, for the fans and for the club, and also for the teammates he is a very important player." Rashford has been his own biggest critic at the same time. “I just try to do the right things on the pitch. Even today, I could have had more assists or goals, sometimes the decision making to shoot or pass was wrong," he said after the Elche game. "But I am going to have days like this. The important thing is always the team and today we won. So I am happy for this. "My focus is not so much on the output. If I am doing the right things, I know I will always be able to score and assist; my focus is with the team, to build relationships and feel comfortable."
