Author Warren Cabral Releases Children’s Books [Written by Stephen Wright] A Bermudian author has released five action-adventure children’s books entitled The Lakeland Mysteries. Warren Cabral’s launch into children’s fiction came when he crafted a short Christmas story for his two young nieces. The project sparked a creative passion that quickly evolved into a full-fledged series, featuring the sisters as heroines and set against the picturesque backdrop of their hometown, Cockermouth, in England’s Lake District. The series follows two gifted sisters as they unravel mysteries involving deception, alien encounters, and ancient secrets. A retired partner of Appleby Bermuda, Cabral now living in England, told Bernews: “The books are designed to appeal to readers aged nine to 12, as well as to their parents and grandparents. “I’ve tried to pitch the text at a high literary level to challenge young minds and amuse the adults who read along.” He added that the Lake District setting not only honours his nieces’ home but also provides the books with a strong sense of place, enhancing their appeal to readers. Mr Cabral, a former Saltus Grammar School student and a former chairman of the Barristers and Accountants AML/ATF in Bermuda, has released the books through his own publishing company, Wilton Books Ltd. The five books are called: The Fire on Slate Fell; The Wolf of Ennerdale; The Lad in the Lane; The Mystery of Chemic Tavern; and The Vanishing Young of Rydal Cave. They feature full-colour illustrations by award-winning illustrator Corryn Webb. The books also come in audio format narrated by talented voice actor Ian Russell. All five books in all formats – paperback, eBook and audiobook – are available for sale online from numerous platforms and retailers, including Amazon/Audible.
