Aussie Fan Trolls India, Then Folds Hands After Realising It's Ashwin On Camera | Watch

An Australian fan trying to troll Team India on camera after their 2-1 series loss in the One-Day International series hilariously took a U-turn upon noticing it was great off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on the other side. The funny incident happened outside the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday, October 25, after legends Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli produced a vintage run-chase and helped the tourists prevent a series whitewash and salvage pride after going down in Perth and Adelaide. Moments after this Aussie spectator noticed veteran journalist Vimal Kumar talking to the camera, he barged into the live conversation with shouts of “2-1, 2-1!!” However, upon realising that the journalist was on an episode of ‘Ash Ki Baat‘ on Ashwin’s famous YouTube channel, the man’s expressions changed drastically. The Australian folded his hands and bowed down to do the traditional Indian welcome for Ashwin, saying, “Oh my god!! Namaskar, apka swagat hai” (Greetings, you are welcome). An Aussie doing the Indian namaskar in his accent amused Ashwin and Vimal a lot as they erupted in laughter in the viral clip. Blud suddenly realised it’s Ashwin. ?pic.twitter.com/1M0Bc44DXO — Selfless⁴⁵ (@SelflessCricket) October 26, 2025 Passionate fans in either country continue to play their part in the historic India-Australia rivalry, where fortunes continue to shift back and forth across formats. While Australia broke their decade-long series streak in Tests against India by acing the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, India pushed them out of the race for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 title by winning a hard-fought semifinal in Dubai earlier this year. India had also handed the Kangaroos a painstaking defeat in the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup 2024 and pushed them to elimination. Impressive victories in Perth and Adelaide gave the hosts an unassailable lead in the series before India finally put up a complete performance in Sydney. Youngsters Harshit Rana (4/39) and Washington Sundar (2/44) performed brilliantly in the first-innings to set up the contest for the tourists. Then a tremendous 121* from Rohit and a freeflowing 74 not out from Kohli secured India’s nine-wicket triumph. The visitors will now battle out an exciting five-match T20I series against the arch-rivals, starting Wednesday, October 29, in Canberra.
