A new sci-fi show on Apple TV has managed to break one impressive Rotten Tomatoes record, which makes its promising future even more exciting. When it comes to Rotten Tomatoes scores, especially in the sci-fi genre, Apple TV seems to have quite a few records. Even some of the less commercially successful sci-fi shows on Apple TV, like Constellation and Sunny, have above-average critics' scores on Rotten Tomatoes. Owing to this, it would be fair to say that Apple TV has set a high bar with its sci-fi shows when it comes to critical acclaim. Despite the high bar, one new Apple TV sci-fi series has shattered one Rotten Tomatoes record on the streaming services. The new show has even beaten some of the best sci-fi shows on Apple TV in this regard, making it hard not to be excited about its future. Apple TV’s Pluribus Has Officially Broken Severance’s Rotten Tomatoes Record Apple TV has quite a few sci-fi shows in its catalog that managed to land impressive Rotten Tomatoes scores in their first seasons. For instance, Silo season 1 still holds 89% on the platform while Sunny is at a surprising 90%. Murderbot outclasses both with its 95% critics' score, but Severance season 1 ranks above all with an almost perfect score of 97%. For a long time, Severance season 1 held the record of being the highest-rated opening installment of an Apple TV sci-fi show on Rotten Tomatoes. However, Severance's record has also officially been beaten by Vince Gilligan's Pluribus, which has a perfect 100% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes. Only a few shows have achieved this rare feat, highlighting how much critics unanimously appreciate the new series. With Pluribus’ Record-Breaking Critical Success, Apple TV’s Sci-Fi Domination Continues Apple TV has been consistently delivering one sci-fi hit after another. While it has had a few hiccups with shows like Invasion and Hello Tomorrow!, the streaming service's winning streak makes up for its few misses. The fact that Pluribus has a perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes score and has also been renewed for season 2 after its premiere proves that the streamer is not slowing down with its high-quality sci-fi content anytime soon. Even for the upcoming year, Apple TV seems to have some exciting new shows like Neuromancer and returning series like Silo lined up. With the streaming services offering viewers so much to look forward to, it seems like it has already surpassed other giants in the sci-fi genre. And if its current trajectory is any indication, its sci-fi domination has only begun. There Is A Solid Reason Why Pluribus Ended Up On Apple TV There is an interesting reason why Pluribus ended up on Apple TV and not any other streaming service. As Vince Gilligan revealed (via Variety), several studios wanted to pick Pluribus and bring its original idea to life. This led to a massive bidding war, which Apple TV won because they promised Gilligan "the gift of trust and time."
