Apple is slow when it comes to bringing updates, but when the company does, they are not basic updates instead, we get to see groundbreaking developments. Now, as published in the Power On newsletter by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, it has been mentioned that Apple is working on offering more satellite features in the iPhones. Apple brought the Messages via Satellite feature for the masses, which allows people to send and receive texts. As of now, it is being said that the Messages via Satellite feature will now let people send photos as well. Apart from texting, Apple wants to let people get 5G NTN support on iPhones, which will permit cell towers to get a coverage boost by tapping into satellites, as suggested by Gurman. That's not it, Apple is also planning to bring satellite connectivity for Apple Maps for people who need directions in remote areas without any WiFi or cellular connection. What Else Is On The cards? According to Mark Gurman, Apple is also working on making the usage of satellite a more natural one as compared to what we get to see currently. For example, the users will not be supposed to point their iPhones towards the sky to connect to a satellite network. In the near future, Apple will be making iPhones stay connected to a satellite even when the sky is not clear. From the perspective of developers, Apple is also working on an API that lets app makers add satellite connections.
