Prayers are rolling in for Andy Richter today after the the comedian-turned-unexpected-fan-favorite-on-Dancing-With-the-Stars shared a post on social media sharing that he recently underwent a minor medical procedure. The 59-year-old shared a carousal of photos on Instagram, with the first photo being a graphic with the words: “Trigger warning: Knee juice.” He also added the caption, “The first photo is the fluid they just drained out out of my knee. The second photo is my wife’s reaction to it, a.k.a. why I love her. [Emma Slater] said it looked like the juice she just drank, I love her too.” Click below (if you dare!) to see the amount of “juice” Andy had drained from his knee: A Little Too Much ‘Knee Juice’ for Comfort Richter’s post immediately sent fans (and a few stomachs!) spinning. In the first photo, a shockingly large vial of cloudy yellow and red fluid sits front and center. The second photo, though, lightens the mood: A screenshot of his text exchange with his wife, Jennifer Herrera. In the messages, she proves why she might just be the funniest woman on Andy’s contact list. “Ohh that’s nice!!” she texted back, followed by, “Ask him if it smells.” Andy seemed to take it all in stride (no pun intended). Considering he’s been performing each week on Dancing With the Stars in not one but two knee braces, it’s safe to say the man’s commitment to the ballroom is unmatched. While Andy didn’t share what exactly caused the buildup of fluid, it’s likely the result of weeks of intense rehearsals, quick footwork, and high-impact choreography. And yet, as always, his humor came first. Even while sitting in a doctor’s office, staring down a syringe full of knee fluid, Richter’s comedic instincts kicked in. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 Fans Rally Behind Their ‘People’s Princess’ If the comments section on Andy’s post proves anything, it’s that America has officially claimed him as its new “People’s Princess.” Fans flooded his Instagram with love, concern, and plenty of jokes — because, really, what else can you do when confronted with a vial of “knee juice”? “You stay strong, princess — we need you in the finale!” one person cheered, while another gushed, “You’re so strong! I love you and I’m rooting for you.” Dozens of others echoed the same supportive sentiment, assuring the comedian they’d be casting their votes for him this week no matter what. “Hope you feel better,” one fan wrote. “Can’t wait to get my votes in this week!” Another added, “We’re rooting for you from El Paso, Texas, Andy! Stay strong!” Of course, not everyone could resist leaning into the gross-out humor. “Not the ‘ask him if it smells,’” one fan laughed, while another admitted, “I read the trigger warning and thought I was prepared. I wasn’t.” Others confessed they had no idea what they were about to witness. “I wasn’t sure what knee juice was,” one person said. “I want to turn back time. It’s my own fault.” Another chimed in simply: “Did it smell though?” Despite all the cringe and curiosity, the overwhelming message was clear. Fans adore Andy and want him back on the ballroom floor in fighting form. “Feel better Andy! We love you and are sending healing vibes your way,” one person summed up. Another put it best: “We can’t have the People’s Champion hurt.”
