Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf look unrecognisable in 33-year-old snap before they got married

Tennis legend Andre Agassi marked his 24th wedding anniversary with fellow icon Steffi Graf by posting a throwback photograph on social media that was taken 33 years ago. The 55-year-old shared an image of the pair holding their Wimbledon trophies from 1992, a full nine years before they exchanged vows. Agassi's appearance in the photograph is strikingly different, with his signature long blond locks taking centre stage – a stark contrast to the bald look he sports nowadays. Whilst dressed in an elegant tuxedo, he stayed true to his distinctive style with a dangling earring completing the ensemble. Graf, now 56, can be seen wearing an elegant ballgown adorned with pearls. Alongside the memorable photograph, Agassi included a recent snap of the beaming couple, writing: "24 years with this wonderful woman, Happy Anniversary Steffi, you are my unicorn!" Although both celebrated Wimbledon victories in 1992, Agassi went on to wed actress Brooke Shields between 1997 and 1999, whilst Graf was in a relationship with racing driver Michael Bartels. Following the American's separation from Shields, his connection with Graf blossomed, with the pair embarking on a romance in 1999. Agassi subsequently disclosed that he had harboured feelings for his future wife all along. In his 2009 autobiography, Open , he wrote: "I've had a crush on Steffi since I first saw her doing an interview on French TV. I was thunderstruck, dazzled by her understated grace, her effortless beauty." Agassi also revealed that he was "dying" to attend the prestigious Wimbledon Ball, knowing the two champions would get the opportunity to dance together. Famed for guarding their privacy, Agassi and Graf held an incredibly intimate wedding ceremony at their Las Vegas home in October 2001. Staying true to their low-key approach, just four people attended: Agassi, Graf and their two mothers. The couple later had their son Jaden Gil, before welcoming daughter Jaz Elle in 2003. After retiring from the sport, Agassi and Graf have opted for a peaceful family life, keeping their children away from the demands of professional tennis. Jaden decided to follow baseball, competing at the University of Southern California. Meanwhile, Jaz has developed a passion for dance. Agassi is widely regarded as one of the greatest male players in history. His rebellious on-court persona was rivalled only by his remarkable achievements. He turned professional at merely 16 and accumulated 60 ATP Tour singles titles across 20 years. His stellar career includes eight Grand Slam victories - featuring four Australian Opens, a French Open, Wimbledon and two US Opens - placing him amongst just five men in the Open Era to complete a career Grand Slam. He additionally secured Olympic gold in singles at the 1996 Atlanta Games before stepping away from the sport in 2006. German legend Graf is recognised as one of the most successful female players in tennis history. She clinched 107 singles titles on the WTA Tour, including 22 major women's singles titles, ranking third in all-time victories. Graf won Wimbledon seven times, secured victory at the French Open six times, won the Australian Open four times and claimed five US Open championships. She retired from professional tennis at the age of 30 in 1999.
