Following the Players Association’s criticism of stalled CBA talks, the WNBA and Commissioner Cathy Engelbert have issued a firm response to Front Office Sports, pushing back against claims of delay and misrepresentation. And this was not expected. Well, the league clarified that it has proposed an “uncapped” revenue-sharing model, directly tied to league performance, allowing players’ compensation to grow as revenues increase. “It is incorrect and surprising that the Players Association is claiming the WNBA has not offered an uncapped revenue-sharing model,” the statement read. Not just that – the WNBA even expressed frustration over the union’s refusal to engage meaningfully, emphasizing that its proposals aim for a fair, mutually beneficial agreement.
