A North Dakota hotel employee was caught on camera by guests in a “disgusting” move that led to a health department investigation. While staying at the Expressway Suites in Fargo, a family witnessed one of the hotel workers dumping bed sheets into a hot tub in the pool area. The facility claims this was done for the purpose of removing “little stains,” but it doesn’t sound like that explanation sufficed for guest Alex Kenmille and her family. “At first, I thought maybe the hot tub was down, the drain was broken, they were trying to soak up the water, but then he started adding more in there and I was like what is going on?” Kenmille told Valley News Live. “That’s disgusting. Are you kidding? Are we sleeping on those sheets? I was really disgusted,” she added. Kenmille said the family contacted hotel management to share their concerns. Fargo Cass Public Health’s environmental health department is looking into the matter, and the state health department could also follow suit. Hotel offers explanation as video goes viral A video of the worker putting the sheets into the chlorinated hot tub and stirring them with a broomstick has been spreading on social media. In the meantime, in a recorded phone call with the hotel, an employee said the sheets were washed before they were put in the hot tub. “The sheets are put into the hot tub, and it gets out tiny little stains, then the hot tub is drained. It is really heavily cleaned by a huge deep cleaner,” the employee was heard saying. Management also told CBS Minnesota that the worker was engaging in “a last-resort practice” for stained sheets that were slated to be thrown out. The practice is typically performed after pool hours, and the employee was “talked to” about completing the duties in front of guests.
