A TT Rideshare driver was attacked by two men pretending to be passengers on Tuesday night. The 29-year-old driver told police he was contacted for a job and went to a location along Ragoonanan Road, Longdenville, at around 8pm. He said two men entered the vehicle, one was armed with a firearm. The gunman ordered the driver to go to a secluded area off Alladi Trace, Ragoonanan Road. A police report stated that the driver was robbed of $350. But when the men demanded he hand over the keys, police said, the driver resisted and there was a struggle. The driver began running, police said, and the gunman began firing his direction. He was hit once in the arm. Residents heard the gunshots and saw the victim on the roadway. He was taken to the Cunupia Police Station and then transferred to the Chaguanas Health Facility. Police said the suspects escaped.
