All 20 Premier League Teams Ranked by Injuries Suffered in 2025

Unfortunately, for all 20 teams in the Premier League, injuries are just part and parcel of life. Clubs in England's top flight, from title challengers Manchester City to strugglers Wolverhampton Wanderers, do all they can behind the scenes to prevent their players from picking up niggling issues – or, at least, lessen the extent of how long they are out of action for. As is the case in any season, however, there are a number of teams that are struck more heavily than others – and that has happened once again in 2025/26. As things stand, Mikel Arteta's Arsenal have stolen a march at the top of the table; reigning champions Liverpool are struggling and there are three teams at the foot who are struggling more than others. But which teams have been hit by injuries the worst? Using data from Opta, via a detailed report from Sky Sports, we've taken a look at this season's injury history of all 20 teams competing in the Premier League. Total Number of Injuries Let's kick things off by judging each team in the simplest way possible: the total number of injuries all 20 sides in England's top flight have picked up. For reference, it must be noted that a player – if they have sustained separate injuries – can count towards two injuries for their respective sides. As expected, there are a few teams worse off in terms of how many injuries they've suffered between the start of the 2025/26 campaign – the middle of August – and now. Pep Guardiola's City, who went trophyless in 2024/25 and will be looking to bounce back, are among those who may feel hard done by when assessing their number of injuries. The Citizens have been forced to contend for much of the early stages of the season without Rodri in the heart of their midfield; the Spaniard missed a large chunk of last term and his injury-prone nature has trickled into the new season. All in all, they've faced 21 separate injuries. Daniel Farke-managed Leeds United are next up with 19, while top four hopefuls Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool – two teams that are bound to finish near the top of the table come May – have all endured their fair share of injury issues in the opening weeks of 2025/26. With 18 injuries apiece, Arne Slot's defending champions have needed to compete without the likes of Alisson Becker and Enzo Maresca's Chelsea have been without Levi Colwill, Cole Palmer and the like. Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace, their rivals Brighton & Hove Albion and Aston Villa have all suffered from 17 separate injuries since August. Regis Le Bris' high-flying Sunderland side are proving that decent recruitment can ease the jump from England's second to first tier – and they've had to deal with 13 injuries, which is the same number as rivals Newcastle United. Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brentford, too, have suffered 13 injuries since the start of the campaign. Fulham's relatively lucky tally of 12 – consisting of Joachim Andersen, Samuel Chukwueze, Emile Smith Rowe and the like – make them among the more fortunate teams in England. Burnley, Nottingham Forest and Everton follow with 11. Bournemouth and West Ham United have suffered with ten. On the opposite end of the spectrum from Guardiola's men are Manchester United. Over the years, the Red Devils have found their squad ravaged by injuries; but that is no longer the case. Perhaps helped by the fact that they are not competing in Europe, Ruben Amorim and co. have had a mere eight injuries to deal with. Days Lost From Injuries Although it's important to look at how many injuries each team has suffered, such a statistic doesn't take the extent of each injury into consideration – for example, one injury could last a matter of days; others could be season-ending. So, which teams have been affected by injuries for the longest time period? That would be Thomas Frank's Spurs, who have lost an eye-catching total of 516 days from injury problems this term. James Maddison was stretchered off during his side's pre-season test against Newcastle – and he has been out since the start of the campaign. Elsewhere, Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke are among the club's long-term absentees. Sunderland, despite their brilliant start to life at the promised land, have been without some of their top stars for a collective total of 454 days. Crystal Palace, the reigning champions of the FA Cup, are just behind with 444 before Chelsea's tally of 440 days missed sees them in the top four. Brighton, City and Arsenal – who have been without the talismanic Martin Odegaard for quite some time – follow with tallies of 382, 364 and 362 days missed through injury; and Liverpool then follow closely behind with 297 days missed. Engine room patroller Youri Tielemans is among those that have been injured for Unai Emery's Villa since the campaign got underway a couple of months ago – and, overall, the Spanish boss has needed to navigate through 276 days missed via his squad's injury issues. Brentford, Leeds United and Newcastle are among the teams that have been somewhat let off in terms of how many days they've missed through injury. The same can be said for Nottingham Forest – who have had to re-jig their backline due to Ola Aina's long-term injury – but the Garibaldi have only missed 209 days through injury. Bournemouth are flying under Andoni Iraola's tenureship – and while much of that can be attributed to the Spaniard's know-how and expertise, it's not unfair to say that a lack of injuries has stood them in good stead. Since August, the side from the south coast have missed 200 days through injury – that is eight more than Wolves and nine more than Everton. Once again, marking their positive change, Amorim – widely regarded as one of the best young managers in the world – and his men have lost just 165 days to injury niggles this term. That's just two days more than West Ham, who have had to play without the likes of youngster George Earthy and defender Jean-Clair Todibo at points throughout the season. Fulham, in comparison, can count themselves lucky given they've lost just 147 days through injury.
