Alex Vesia will remain in blue and white in 2026. The Los Angeles Dodgers have chosen to exercise the club option on Vesia, keeping him in Los Angeles for another year. In 2025, Vesia inked a one-year deal worth $2.25 million with a club option for 2026, per Sports Illustrated. Now, MLB.com confirms that the Dodgers have decided to pick up that option, keeping Vesia in their bullpen. Fans have been reacting to the news on X. “As seen by the opposing teams honor of having 51 on the relief pitchers hats u know the Vesia family we’re in many people’s thoughts and prayers! Glad to see the Dodgers picked up this option! Our bullpen needs him,” one person wrote. “Glad that employment is one thing that the Vesia family don’t have to worry about at this time,” someone else said. Vesia made his MLB debut in 2020 with the Miami Marlins. A short while later, an undisclosed injury had him on the 10-day injured list and he ended up missing the remainder of the season. In 2021, he was traded to the Dodgers. Related: Dodgers Fans Upset After Alex Vesia, Wife not Mentioned During World Series Celebration Vesia was clutch for LA in 2025. He pitched a total of 59.2 innings across 68 games, posting a 3.02 ERA with 80 strikeouts. While the public doesn’t know exactly what happened, many are very worried due to the various statements made by members of the Dodgers’ organization since the initial announcement about Vesia missing the World Series was made. “What he and Kayla have gone through, heartbreaking is not even a good enough descriptor,” Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts said ahead of Game 7. At the time of Vesia’s absence, he and Kayla had been preparing to welcome their first child together. Vesia is set to become a free agent following the 2026 season.
