Aleister Black has dropped his first comments since his match against Cody Rhodes on WWE SmackDown ended in controversial fashion. Black and Rhodes faced off in the main event of last Friday's show at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina. After his successful title defense at Saturday Night's Main Event, The American Nightmare opened SmackDown and was confronted by Black and Zelina Vega. It led to their main event match, which ended in a no-contest after Drew McIntyre hit a Claymore on referee Dan Engler. McIntyre had enough of the WWE official, who was the referee for both his losses to Rhodes at Wrestlepalooza and SNME. Aleister Black was also attacked by a vengeful Damian Priest for injuring his face and eye in their Last Man Standing match last month. In a post on Instagram, Black has broken his silence following the controversial finish to his match against Rhodes. He shared images from the match, as well as of himself working out. "Days into a week," Black wrote. Aleister Black opens up about trusting Triple H's creative processAfter four years away from WWE, Aleister Black returned in April and began feuding with The Miz. Some fans were not happy that Black wasn't featured in a more meaningful feud until he fought Damian Priest a couple of months ago. However, the former NXT champion has a lot of faith in Triple H and his creative process. "Hunter and I have always had a good working relationship. NXT Aleister Black was a cooperation between him and me, where I would pitch an idea and he would kind of flesh it out better. Right now, that is just happening on a grand scale, and it's been very rewarding... Sometimes he'll have something in his head, and as with everything I've done with him, you have to trust the process. Just because you're not immediately there at the end of the road doesn't mean that the road we're taken is the wrong one," Black told Sports Illustrated. With Black being inserted into a match against Cody Rhodes this past Friday, it seemed like he had entered the main event scene.
