Air Products donates $18,000 to fund emergency response training for high school students

The Ponchatoula Volunteer Fire Department’s high school emergency training and education recently received an $18,000 donation from the Lake Maurepas Community Fund. The money, supported by Air Products Foundation, supports a scholarship fund for 10 students to participate in the Louisiana High School Firefighter Training Program. These students will have the opportunity to start their education in emergency response with the ability to earn International Fire Services Accreditation Congress and ProBoard certifications, including hazmat awareness, hazmat operations, and fire suppression. “Safety and emergency preparedness are at the heart of everything we do at Air Products. We are excited to be able to help future emergency responders get a head start on their education,” said Danna Leblanc, commercial executive director of Air Products’ Louisiana Clean Energy Complex.
