ZIMBABWE INFLATION Zimbabwe's annual inflation rate could halve from current levels by the end of 2025, driven by a stable local currency supported by high gold prices, according to a report by the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries released on Monday. TANZANIA POLITICS Tanzania's President Samia Suluhu Hassan vowed on Monday to move on from deadly protests set off by last week's disputed election as she was sworn into office for her first elected term. NIGERIA BONDS Nigeria's sovereign bonds slipped on Monday after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened military action in the country if it did not take action to protect Christians, but veteran investors said the fallout was likely to be limited. AFRICA DEBT The International Finance Corporation, the World Bank's private investment arm, is expanding its local-currency lending and direct investments into companies across Africa to help projects reach the scale required to attract major global funds, Managing Director Makhtar Diop told the Africa Financial Summit in Casablanca on Monday. NIGERIA SECURITY U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday the U.S. military could deploy troops to Nigeria or carry out air strikes to stop what he called the killing of large numbers of Christians in the West African country.
