KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan’s under-17 national futsal team will face Iran today (Thursday) in the final match of the Asian Youth Championships. According to the Futsal Committee’s official Facebook page, Afghanistan’s U-17 futsal team will play against Iran in the final of the third round of the Asian Youth Championships, scheduled to take place in Bahrain at 8:30 p.m. Afghanistan time. It said that eight teams, including Afghanistan, are participating in the championship hosted by Bahrain. Afghanistan is placed in Group A alongside Bahrain, Uzbekistan, and China. The Afghan team defeated all three group rivals—Bahrain, Uzbekistan, and China—and overcame Thailand in the semifinal to advance to the final match. According to the National Olympic Committee, the third round of the Asian Youth Championships, featuring athletes from 45 Asian countries in various sports, began in Bahrain on October 22 and will continue until October 31.
