Police have launched an investigation after activists vandalised an Edinburgh business linked to defence manufacturing in the early hours of Friday morning. Images show windows and air conditioning units were smashed and paint sprayed inside and outside the Keysight Technologies building on Lochside Place, near Edinburgh Park, around 1.25am. A group claiming responsibility said the action was carried out “in solidarity with the people of Palestine ." In a statement, the activists accused the firm of supplying electronic components to UAV Tactical, a Leicester-based subsidiary of Elbit Systems, Israel’s largest weapons manufacturer. They also claimed Keysight had business ties with Thales, which operates a factory in Glasgow that helps produce the UK’s Watchkeeper drone, jointly developed with Elbit. The statement said: “We are committed to taking direct action against all those who enable Israel’s weapons trade and Keysight will continue to be targeted until they drop all ties and contracts with Elbit and Thales.” It went on to reference the ongoing war in Gaza and called on others to “take action against the Israeli war machine.” Police Scotland confirmed officers were called to the scene shortly after 1am. A spokesperson said: “Around 1.25am on Friday, 7 November, 2025, we were called to a report of a disturbance on Lochside Place, Edinburgh, and two buildings vandalised. “Officers attended and enquiries are ongoing to trace those involved. Anyone with information that may assist should contact 101 quoting incident number 0196 of 7 November, 2025.”
