Well, it was Aamir’s idea to have the actress on board. In a recently released video on his production house’s page, Aamir Khan revealed that it was his mom who used to like Sakshi. Aamir Khan, in the video, revealed, “One day, I don’t know why, I thought of Sakshi Tanwar, I have no Idea.” “Actually, Sakshi was my idea. My mom used to like her a lot on television, so I told Niteshji, ‘Should we try Sakshi ji?’” Aamir further elaborated. For Sakshi, this pairing wasn’t something she had ever thought of. When the opportunity came in, she was surprised. Recalling her reaction, the actress shared, “When I was told that this is the character, I couldn’t believe that this could also be a pairing.” To this, Aamir reacted, and while praising Sakshi for the actor she is, he continued, “She’s amazing. She’s a fantastic actress. You tell her small little changes, and she understands immediately and gives it perfectly. It’s not only skill; she does it with a lot of heart.” For Sakshi, this journey was nothing but beautiful. Summing up her experience of doing Dangal, she shared, “It just happened on its own, like different pieces of a puzzle coming together. Fatima Sana Shaikh and Zaira Wasim portrayed the adult and younger versions of Geeta, while Sanya Malhotra and Suhani Bhatnagar played the adult and young versions of Babita. Dangal marked the debut of Zaira, Sanya, and Suhani. After its initial release in India in December 2016, the film, starring Aamir Khan, was released in China in May 2017. The sports drama ran for 60 days and collected ₹1305.29 crore in China, taking its overseas collection to ₹1535.30 crore. Dangal, one of the top 20 highest-grossing foreign films in China, collected ₹387.38 crore net and ₹535 crore gross in India.
