President John Dramani Mahama is scheduled to be in Kumasi next week for a ground-breaking ceremony for the commencement of the Ejisu-Offinso road under the $10 billion Big Push project. This message was communicated to the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II during the eighth Akwasidae Festival at the Manhyia Palace on November 9, 2025. Briefing the King about the project, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, said Ejisu- Juaben- Effiduase- Kwabre East -Affigya Kwabre South to Offinso will be touched as part of the project. This, he explained, is imperative to reduce traffic within the Central Business District. “It will ensure that trucks from Accra to Burkina will no longer use Kumasi Central Business Area.” Nkoko nketenkete” Project The President will also launch the ‘Nkoko nketenkete” project, a key manifesto promise of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) prior to December 2024. This, he said, aims to boost poultry production and create jobs for the youth through enhanced support for poultry farmers, affordable feed production, and expanded veterinary services. “It will be launched at Jubilee Park. Interested people who would want to patronise as a backyard activity will be given at most 50 chicks on Wednesday.
