A Man Drank 2-Million-Year-Old Glacier Water — It Sent His Stomach Into A Spiral! | Watch

Videos often go viral on social media for their fun or adventurous appeal, but sometimes, they hide a serious danger. Recently, one such video surfaced showing a man drinking crystal-clear glacier water that was said to be millions of years old. The clip shows the man filling a glass with water straight from a glacier and gulping it down. Though it appeared clean, health experts quickly warned that such water can contain ancient bacteria that are harmful to modern humans. Soon after drinking, the man reportedly experienced stomach rumbling, a sign that could lead to vomiting and diarrhoea. What Looks Pure Can Turn Risky The video was shared on Instagram by health expert Doctormyro, who urged viewers: “Please don’t drink the ancient microbes!” He explained that the water, likely from a glacier in Alaska, might have trapped viruses, parasites, and bacteria that have survived for thousands or even millions of years. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Myro Figura MD | Anesthesiologist ? (@doctormyro) According to studies, glaciers like Guliya in Tibet contain microbes that are over 15,000 years old, while Taylor Glacier in Antarctica holds bacteria that date back 2 million years, still alive, surviving without oxygen. A Deadly ‘Time Capsule’ Doctormyro described glacier water as a ‘time capsule’, deceptively pure but filled with organisms our immune systems are not prepared to handle. Drinking such water, experts say, could cause diarrhoea, stomach pain, and dehydration due to parasites like Giardia or Cryptosporidium, often found in animal waste or old pollutants frozen within glaciers. So, while the idea of tasting ancient water might sound adventurous, experts agree that some things are best admired from a distance.
