Four projects jointly implemented by the Kochi Corporation and Cochin Smart Mission Limited (CSML) have been inaugurated. These include newly constructed blocks at the Woman and Child Hospital in Mattancherry and the Fort Kochi Taluk Hospital, a renovated community hall at Kalvathy, and the beautification of Diamond Park. The Fort Kochi Taluk Hospital has been developed with an investment of ₹1.80 crore from the Corporation’s development fund and an additional ₹40 lakh from BPCL’s Corporate Social Responsibility fund. The new facilities include a geriatric centre, paediatric ward, casualty unit, new outpatient block, pay wards, and a physiotherapy centre. The geriatric ward was renovated using ₹50 lakh from the health grant. The physiotherapy centre features advanced equipment, including a laser magnetic stimulation therapy device, being used for the first time in Kerala. Projects being implemented through HLL Lifecare Limited, using ₹1.10 crore from the Corporation’s own fund and ₹1.75 crore from the MP development fund, are also nearing completion. These will facilitate CT and MRI scans at affordable rates. A new three-storey building spanning 15,737 sq ft has been constructed at the Fort Kochi Taluk Hospital at a cost of ₹7.40 crore by CSML. It houses new outpatient counters, separate rooms for doctors, a nursing station, laboratories, pharmacy, lift, and fire safety system. A three-storey building covering 14,995 sq. ft. has been built at the Mattancherry Women and Child Hospital, also at an investment of ₹7.40 crore. It includes outpatient counters, doctors’ rooms, pharmacy, lift, and fire safety system. Community hall Diamond Park in Mattancherry has been beautified with landscaping, a walkway, LED lighting, a stage, and a new toilet complex at an investment of ₹2.80 crore. The community hall at Kalvathy has been renovated at a cost of ₹6 crore. The air-conditioned hall has a seating capacity of 50, allowing local residents to host events and functions at reasonable rates. K.J. Maxy, MLA, and Hibi Eden, MP, inaugurated the new blocks at the Mattancherry Women and Child Hospital and the Kalvathy community hall, respectively. Mayor M. Anilkumar inaugurated the new block at the Fort Kochi Taluk Hospital and the beautified Diamond Park. Deputy Mayor K.A. Ansiya was present.
