5-star SG Jordan Smith Jr. visiting Syracuse this weekend

Five-star shooting guard Jordan Smith Jr. is currently on campus at Syracuse for an unofficial visit, his father told Rivals. The 6-foot-2 senior out of Paul VI Catholic (VA) included the Orange in his top six schools in August. He also listed Arkansas, Duke, Kentucky, Georgetown, and Indiana as his other finalists. Smith is ranked as the No. 3 overall player in the class, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking. He’s also the No. 1 shooting guard and the No. 1 player in Virginia. Smith has completed official visits to Kentucky, Arkansas and Duke. Smith talks programs in the hunt In a previous interview with Rivals, Smith discussed the programs recruiting him. Duke: “They want me to come in here, help them win a national championship, help them reach my goals in any way possible. They want to build my character as a young man, develop me to how I want to be. I love Jon Scheyer, he’s a great recruiter. I have two teammates that speak very highly of him, so I’m just excited to see what they do this year, how he plays them.” Arkansas: “(Calipari) preaches to me if I want to go there, or if I want to reach my goal, go there. Like he said, he’s going to help me by any means necessary to reach my goal and go to the NBA. He claims he’s a guard coach, which I believe, and I’ve seen in the past. I just believe everything he’s saying.” Georgetown: “I love Ed Cooley, the way he recruits me, the way he visits. I visit there sometimes, and he was in Switzerland (for USA Basketball) with us. Got to spend some time with him there, so it was really nice. Just the opportunity, whatever opportunity stands in front of me to be able to get to where I want to go.” Kentucky: “I’m just looking at the environment. I got to sit and talk with Mark Pope at the USA Mini Camp. He was a really chill guy, I love Mark Pope. I just want to see how he is as a player, how he develops, how he leads his team to the National Championship.” Indiana: “Kenny (Johnson) always been there from the start. He helped me get into PVI, helped me with Takeover. He’s always been a helping hand, I really appreciate him. He’s always been there.” Syracuse: “Takeover pipeline. They play the same way as we do out here and at PVI. So I feel like I can fit their system very well.” What he’s looking for in a school In that same previous interview with Rivals, Jordan Smith Jr. discussed what he is looking for in his future college.
