AEW has expanded its roster over the past few years to include some of the best talent from around the world. This has helped the company stay afloat and even compete with WWE over the years. The addition of Kazuchika Okada, Mike Bailey, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and more has only made the promotion stronger. While many of these stars will have a promising future in the Jacksonville-based promotion, there are some wrestlers who are near the end of their careers. Hence, we will take a look at three stars who will never become a champion again in AEW.#3. Bryan DanielsonBryan Danielson reached the pinnacle of his AEW run last year when he won the World Title. He lost the title a few months later to Jon Moxley at WrestleDream 2025. Following this loss, Danielson has not competed in a televised match, leaving fans to wonder if he has retired from the ring. However, the American Dragon has only hinted that his in-ring career is over by saying that his body can no longer perform at the same level. But he has not yet announced his official retirement from the ring. Danielson returned to TV at All In: Texas and helped Hangman Page dethrone Moxley for the World Title. Since then, he has taken on a commentary role within the company, but has not stepped back into the ring.Given the fact that his body is not up to the task of competing at a high level, it is unlikely that Tony Khan will ever put another title on Bryan Danielson in the future.#2. Adam Cole may never become champion in AEW againAdam Cole's run in AEW has suffered its fair share of setbacks. Shortly after his debut in the company, he suffered a serious concussion, which sidelined him for several months. After returning to the ring, Cole suffered a foot injury, which placed him on the shelf again.Despite this, Tony Khan placed him in the TNT Title picture a few months after he returned from injury. Adam Cole even ended up winning the title earlier this year. Sadly, he suffered another concussion and was forced to relinquish his TNT Championship at All In: Texas, which is the company's biggest PPV of the year.Given his history with concussions, it is unlikely that Tony Khan will put another title on the former WWE star.#1. Chris JerichoChris Jericho has been a prominent feature on AEW TV since the company's inception. He was the promotion's inaugural World Champion. Jericho also held the ROH World Title. However, he has been absent from TV for the past few months, which has surprised many fans. With his contract set to expire soon, fans have started speculating that Jericho could be headed to WWE. The former World Champion has also played into these rumors by posting clips and images from his time with the sports entertainment juggernaut on social media. If the rumors about him returning to WWE are true, then Jericho most certainly won't win another title in the Jacksonville-based promotion. Even if Jericho does return to AEW, it is unlikely that Tony Khan will place him in any title picture, given his age.
