With November here, Prime Video has added several new movies to its streaming service, which already has well over 15,000 films to choose from. With the Halloween season behind us, it is time to start watching something different. While Prime Video has plenty of horror movies, there are also dramas, thrillers, and action movies to choose from. There are several great choices, including Oscar-winning dramas from the past, gripping spy thrillers that keep viewers on the edge of their seats, and even some action movies featuring one of the most beloved superheroes of all time. No matter your taste, Prime Video has great movies this week to watch for all movie fans. Good Will Hunting (1997) The movie that won Matt Damon and Ben Affleck an Oscar is now available to stream on Prime Video this week. Good Will Hunting was based on a script Damon and Affleck wrote, and Gus Van Sant directed about a math prodigy (Damon) who has to decide between his childhood friends and a possible successful future. This was also a movie that proved that Robin Williams could be as great a dramatic actor as he was a comedian, and it might be his all-time best performance. The movie earned nine Oscar nominations, though the only two wins went to Damon and Affleck for Best Original Screenplay and to Williams for Best Supporting Actor. Good Will Hunting has also been highly praised for its portrayal of classism in higher education and the inequality that often keeps the gifted down, even as instructors and educators fight to help them. The film also has a fall-season setting, making it one of the best movies to watch this week on Prime Video, with November here. Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) It is always a good time to watch a great superhero movie, and Spider-Man: Homecoming arrived on Prime Video this week. This was the first Spider-Man movie under the MCU banner, and it was critically praised and a huge box office success, with Tom Holland taking on the role of the Wall Crawler. The movie also saw Michael Keaton return to superhero movies a few years before he reprised his Batman role in the DCEU movie, The Flash. Here, he played the supervillain, The Vulture, and delivered a fantastically sympathetic performance that helped elevate the film. Spider-Man remains the best of the MCU heroes when it comes to consistently great movies over the last few years, and this was where it all started. Hanna (2011) Joe Wright proved his talent with the Oscar-nominated period piece, Pride & Prejudice, and he showed he could do something very different when he helmed the action spy movie Hanna. This movie follows a young girl in hiding, as her father teaches her how to kill to defend herself from an organization that wants to capture her. What makes this movie so interesting to watch on Prime Video is that the streaming service remade it as a streaming series. However, while that series was good, the film remains the superior telling of the story, with Saoirse Ronan impressive as the young would-be assassin.
