Winners of each episode receive $5,000. In this Halloween edition, artists must create hyperrealistic cakes related to the season. Tombstone or tracel tart, anyone? (Picture: Netflix) 9. Monster: The Ed Gein Story – 9,500,000 views And finally, if you’ve not watched Monster: The Ed Gein Story, or heard about the possible serial killer and grave robber, you’ve been living under a true crime rock. In this latest instalment of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s biographical crime drama anthology series, the focus is centred around Ed Gein — also known as the Butcher of Plainfield and the Plainfield Ghoul — who confessed to the murders of two women: tavern owner Mary Hogan in 1954 and hardware store owner Bernice Worden in 1957. He also gained notoriety in the 1950s when authorities learned he used the stolen body parts of the graves he robbed to make household items. This eight-episode series is a loose retelling of his story, with plenty of facts fabricated for ‘entertainment’ purposes. (Picture: Netflix)
