The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Friday released its joint manifesto for next month's high-stakes assembly elections in Bihar. The announcement in Patna saw the participation of several key leaders, including BJP chief and Union Minister JP Nadda, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Union Ministers Jitan Ram Manjhi and Chirag Paswan, and RLM chief Upendra Kushwaha. The NDA's manifesto places strong emphasis on employment generation and women's empowerment. It promises jobs for one crore youth and financial assistance of up to Rs 2 lakh for women to help create at least one crore 'Lakhpati Didis'. Infrastructure and education also feature prominently in the manifesto, which pledges metro rail projects in four additional cities, seven new international airports, and the development of seven expressways and 10 industrial parks across the state. The alliance has also promised to transform Mega Skill Centres in every district into Global Skilling Centres, provide Rs 10 lakh assistance to people from Economically Backward Classes, offer free quality education from KG to PG, and extend a monthly aid of Rs 2,000 to Scheduled Caste students pursuing higher education. Bihar Election 2025 The 2025 Bihar elections will have the main contest between the National Democratic Alliance and the Mahagathbandhan. NDA includes the Bharatiya Janata Party, Janata Dal (United), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), and Rashtriya Lok Morcha. Mahagathbandhan, led by Rashtriya Janata Dal, includes Congress party, the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (CPI-ML) led by Deepankar Bhattacharya, the Communist Party of India (CPI), the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM), and Mukesh Sahani's Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP). Additionally, Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj has also staked claims on all 243 seats of the state. The assembly elections will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11.
