Dave Roberts corrected himself on Monday ahead of the World Series Game 3 after his comments about intentional flight delay on the Los Angeles Dodgers' return trip from Toronto sparked a lot of controversy. The Dodgers manager apologized for hurting Canadian sentiments. On Sunday, Dave Roberts and the rest of the coaching staff were late to arrive to the Dodgers' workout day. Their flight arrived at the LAX Airport around 5.00 p.m. While speaking to reporters, the skipper hinted that the flight could have been intentional.“I don’t want to get too far into it,” Roberts said during his news conference. “I just arrived about 30 minutes ago. So there was some delays. I don’t know if was intent or not, but, man, the international stuff was a bear.”Roberts cleared the air about his statement on Monday during the pregame presser."I shouldn't have said intent," Roberts said. "I love Canada, I made the mistake of saying intent. It was a long day, a long trip. I am very grateful to be in the World Series, and I shouldn't have said intent. My apologies, sincerely."But fans on X weren't pleased. They directed their anger at Roberts. Here are a few reactions:"You know damn well what you said, don't suddenly spin it now that you're backed into a corner Dave. We're not stupid. The Players' flight had reached Los Angeles around 3 a.m. on Sunday. Game 2 of the World Series ended at 10.45 p.m. at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. John Schneider hits back at Dave Roberts about his commentsToronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider made his feelings known, stating that, being the lone Canadian team, it is easy for people to conclude that the Blue Jays have sabotaged the trip. Schneider explained how his team has been facing delays of its own.“There’s travel delays around the world,” Schneider said via The Toronto Sun. “It’s easy to just point fingers at us, because we’re the only team not in the States. We’ve had travel delays going from Boston to New York.”Games 3 to 5 will be played out at Dodger Stadium, before the teams head back to Toronto, if necessary.
