After an 18-inning Game 3 thriller in the World Series, where Shohei Ohtani went 4-4 and Freddie Freeman hit a walk-off solo home run, a reporter asked Betts who he would be thinking of while going to bed.Betts was first caught by surprise by the question before giving a hilarious answer."Um, I'm probably not going to think about another man while I'm in bed," Betts said.While he may have given a hilarious answer, fans mocked the shortstop for his lackluster performance this World Series. Commissioner Rob Manfred and Clemente’s sons, Luis and Roberto, gave him the award.“Life is about more than kind of what you do as far as work. It’s about how you affect people,” Betts said. “We live by that. So when we come across people, we always make ’em smile, do what you can to help them, and the Lord blesses you.”Betts also mentioned his wife, Brianna, who has been with the shortstop every step of the way.“She’s been with me every step of the way,” Betts said, “and when we’re going to give food to the homeless in the middle of the night or to schools or whoever, she’s always by my side.”Betts' 5050 Foundation helps underprivileged youth with mental and emotional health, nutrition, financial literacy and physical fitness.
