Former New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez fondly remembered longtime Jets center Nick Mangold, who died at 41 from kidney disease. Sanchez played alongside Mangold, a two-time All-Pro, from 2009 through 2012. The Jets made the AFC Championship Game in Sanchez’s first two seasons with Mangold, a 2006 first-round pick, paving the way on and off the field. “We lost a good man today,” Sanchez wrote in an X/Twitter post on Sunday afternoon. Sanchez posted numerous pictures featuring the two, including a 2010 Sports Illustrated cover. “He was more than a teammate,” Sanchez said. “He was my big brother who introduced me to the NFL. He showed me the ropes. He was my friend and confidant. He was a role model and a great father to his children and husband to his wife.
