Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expressed strong confidence in the NDA’s performance in the ongoing Bihar Assembly elections, predicting a decisive victory. In an exclusive conversation with Network18 Group Editor-in-Chief Rahul Joshi, Singh said the NDA is poised to form the government with a two-thirds majority. “Seeing the response of the voters in our public meetings, I can say that our government will be formed for sure and we may also secure a two-thirds majority, which is more than 160 seats,” he said. Prashant Kishor Factor ‘Insignificant’ Addressing speculation over political strategist-turned-leader Prashant Kishor’s impact, Singh dismissed it as negligible. “I believe that factor is insignificant. Not significant enough to even consider,” he said. According to him, voters in Bihar are politically aware and understand “who is standing just to cut votes and who wants to make the government.” Singh added, “People in Bihar know he may not win a single seat.” Also Read: Rajnath Singh Blasts Rahul Gandhi For Dragging Military Into Caste Politics | Exclusive ‘Nitish Kumar To Continue As CM’ On the question of leadership, Rajnath Singh made it clear that Nitish Kumar remains the alliance’s chief ministerial face. “The election is being held under his leadership. So, it is natural that he will be the chief minister,” he stated. When asked about the possibility of deputy chief ministers from the BJP and Chirag Paswan’s party, Singh said such matters would be decided by consensus after the polls. On Law And Order Allegations Responding to allegations raised against alliance leader Anant Singh following a recent firing incident, Singh said such stray events should not be generalised. “It’s possible that such stray incidents happen sometimes. But because of that, you can’t simply say that a particular person is a mafia,” he explained, adding that the NDA carefully selects candidates with clean images.
