“Where did the India Gate go?” seems like a question that anyone will hardly ever ask- considering that it is one of the most proud War Memorials in the country, which is ALSO massive. However, that was exactly the question that ended up arising after a rather concerning video was shared online. No, India Gate did not actually go anywhere, but it did disappear! Or so it seemed after the gain structure simply faded away behind some heavy haze. The clip looked nothing but ‘blur’, as almost everything except the lightpost’s lights was visible in the clip. Except for the yellow lightbeams, the rest of the clip of the India Gate was a ‘blur of black’. The incident, as per ANI, happened on Saturday evening, October 01. As per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) at the time stood at 295- which came under the category of ‘Poor’. As soon as the video went viral, netizens began to react. Most expressed concerns over the health and future complications that may arise among Delhi people and animals due to the pollution, while the rest demanded stricter laws against sources of pollution. Currently, Delhi’s overall AQI stands at 244, which comes under the ‘Severe’ category, as per the monitor of AQI.in. Check out the viral post: “Delhi: India Gate seems to disappear behind a thin layer of haze this evening. AQI (Air Quality Index) around the area is in 'Poor' category, at 295, as per CPCB (Central Pollution Control Board),” the post read. The post was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘ANI’.
