‘If I can lead Legon SRC, I can lead Ghana’ – Guru declares

Ghanaian rapper and outgoing University of Ghana Student Representative Council (UGSRCSRC) president, Guru, has declared that his tenure has adequately prepared him for leadership at the national level. Speaking with Nana Romeo on Okay FM, Guru emphasised that one must first prove capability through education and experience before taking on significant roles. “If you want to venture into a new business or job, or role, you have to show proof that you know what the work is about and that you can do it. The experience is also necessary. That is why people go to school before applying for jobs: to prove that they can do the work,” he said. The majority of our ministers and MPs were heavily involved in school politics. That is why they are good at their duties. They garnered the experience. “So, even I, going to the university and being the SRC president, helped me learn endurance, tolerance, and understanding the process of leadership,” he said. Guru, who studied political science and information studies, declared, “So, for me, after successfully leading the SRC of Legon, I can lead Ghana or any position in Ghana without struggle.” Watch the video below: Watch the promo to GhanaWeb’s latest documentary, which uncovers the evolution of ‘kayamata,’ an exploitative practice fueled by love charms and manipulation, titled, “The Dark Side of Kayamata,’ below
