Soap icon Lynn Herring is remembering her late husband, Wayne Northrop, as their son, Hank Northrop, makes his Days of Our Lives debut. The General Hospital star was married to Wayne for over 40 years before he died from complications from Alzheimer’s Disease in November 2024. Wayne played Roman Brady on the Peacock soap from 1981 to 1984, and returned for another three-year stint from 1991 to 1994. At the Daytime Emmy Awards, Hank and Herring remembered Wayne as they geared up for Hank’s debut on Days of Our Lives. They spoke to Access Hollywood about Hank’s gig while honoring the man they both adored. “It means everything,” the General Hospital star expressed, while Hank added, “It’s such a beautiful full circle moment.” Hank then recalled his mother giving him a special item of his father’s from the Days of Our Lives 40th anniversary. It’s bittersweet for Hank to work with Reynolds, who was Wayne’s on-screen partner-in-crime back in the day. Soaps are a family business for the Herring/Northrop clan.
