'My Camera, My Gun' Takes Top Taiwan Creative Content Fest Prize

War documentary “My Camera, My Gun” was presented with the TAICCA × CNC Award at the close of TCCF Pitching, a four-day pitching event held during Taiwan Creative Content Fest (Nov. 4-7). The Portugal-Japan collaboration from Moon Road Media & Films received a cash prize of $30,000 from the two sponsors of the award — TCCF organizer Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) and France’s Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée (CNC). The award also provides industry resources to support the winning project’s entry into the European market. IPis Innovation’s “Do You Still Love Me” emerged as the most decorated project of the competition with five awards. The breakup-themed series captured the Eastern Broadcasting Co.’s EBC Original IP Potential Award, MyVideo Content Power Award from Taiwan Mobile, the Formosa TV Award from Formosa Television, TVBS Storytelling Impact Grand Award from TVBS Media, and the udnFunLife IP Potential Award. In the feature film category, “Goodbye My Love” from Calendar Studios secured two awards: the CJ ENM HK Global Vision Award and the PHAH Chiayi Story Development Award (NT$300,000/$9,682) from the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Chiayi City Government. Bridgehead’s “Mother Tongue” also won twice, taking home the Taiwan High Speed Rail Beautiful Journey Award and the Taipei International Film Award (NT$300,000/$9,682) from the Taipei Film Commission. “Naked in Glendale,” a co-production between Seesaw Productions and Q&A Entertainment, claimed both the Gold House Distinction Award and the Udine Focus Asia Award from the Udine Far East Film Festival. The Gold House Distinction Award includes a complimentary lifetime membership, offering access to global funding, networking opportunities and professional consulting services. Other notable project winners included D-Day Pictures’ “Soul Lantern,” which won the Hami Video Creativity Award (NT$600,000/$19,364) from Chunghwa Telecom, and “Never the Bride,” a co-production by Fire and Ice Media, Ghost City Films and Volos Films, which secured both the 2025 TCCF MyPick Project Award (NT$100,000/$3,227) and one of two Series Mania Awards. In the ChiLing’s Future Makers Award categories presented by the ChiLing Charity Foundation, “How Sweet Does the Honey Taste?” from Woooz Pictures and Now Delhi won the documentary category (NT$500,000/$16,136), “Pivot” from AwesomeWorks Production and partners took the feature film honor (NT$500,000/$16,136), and Brilliant Animation Studios’ “Titi & Roro” captured the animation prize (NT$500,000/$16,136). The documentary “How Sweet Does the Honey Taste?” proved versatile, also winning the Doc Edge Award from New Zealand’s Doc Edge Film Festival. Dream Sequenze’s “Up to the Buffalo” earned both the Sustainable Future Award from Taiwan’s Ministry of Environment and the Docs by the Sea Award from In-Docs, which guarantees participation in Docs by the Sea 2025. In the Story category, Mirror Fiction’s “Rogue Bookstore” won the TAICCA Award for Best Story (NT$300,000/$9,682), while another Mirror Fiction property, “A Sketch of a Female Serial Killer: Taiwan’s Only Female Death Row Prisoner and the Murders that Shocked a Nation,” took the 2025 TCCF MyPick Story Award. Mirror Fiction also claimed the Glory IP Award for “Promise to Bring You Home,” giving the publisher three prizes overall. This year’s TCCF Pitching section received more than 700 project submissions from 44 countries competing for 41 awards with a record-breaking prize pool of NT$10.1 million ($326,000). The awards ceremony recognized projects across multiple categories including series, feature films, documentaries and story development, with prizes offered by major Taiwanese broadcasters, streaming platforms, international festivals and production companies.
