'I tried Takis' latest Halloween snack – this is what zombies taste like'

This Halloween , the "most intense snack in town" has unleashed a limited-edition flavour so bold it might just rise from the snack aisle and chase you home. Billed as "super spooky," Takis Zombie are only haunting shelves for a short time – so naturally, I had to try them. The first crunch hits with that unmistakable Takis tortilla texture, but the flavour - and green colour - is what makes Zombie unforgettable. Cool cucumber creeps in first , a refreshing twist that almost lulls you into a false sense of calm . Then, like a jump scare in a horror film, the Habanero heat crashes through, fiery and fierce, leaving your tastebuds tingling long after the bite. It’s strange, it’s spooky, and somehow…it works. Rated HOT on the Takis Heat-O-Meter, Zombie packs just the right punch. My kids love the challenge of the heat, and this flavour has already become a fast favourite in our house. They’ve even become somewhat of a rite of passage in the playground with kids declaring them “the best Halloween snack ever” — and I’m not arguing. Whether you’re fuelling a trick-or-treating adventure, lining up snacks for a scary movie marathon, wanting to blow an unsuspecting victim's head off or just looking to add a spooky twist to snack time, Takis Zombie are a must-try. My verdict: Takis Zombie are a bold, ghoulishly good experiment that pays off. They balance a cool, unexpected cucumber twist with fiery habanero heat to deliver a crunchy, addictive snack that’s perfect for Halloween. If you love snacks with personality – and you’re not afraid of the heat – Zombie is worth tracking down before it disappears back into the crypt. Takis Zombie are available to buy in Co-op, Iceland and Farmfoods and the scary snacks are priced around £1.75–£2.00 for a 100g bag. But beware — this is a Halloween-only release, and once they are gone, they are gone. Meanwhile, other flavours are available including the famous Fuego and Dragon Sweet Chilli. The makers tease: "Do you have what it takes to handle the intensity of Takis rolled tortilla chips? Are you able to stand a crunchy bite of our full-on flavour? Because these are no ordinary corn chips. Takis chips are only for the strong. The brave. The daring."
