'Don't waste money on cleaning supplies - three things you really need'

A professional cleaner has issued a warning to homeowners that they could be squandering cash on cleaning products , as she reveals there are three household staples that 'can clean almost everything in your home'. While everyone will have their own favourites, the expert revealed that you don't require a cupboard bursting with products to keep your home looking and smelling pristine. The advice was shared by Kellsie Cleaning Tutorials, who posts on TikTok as @ zapatas_cleaningservices. In a video titled 'don't waste money', Kellsie told viewers: "These three items can clean more things around your home than most people realise, and you probably already own them. They're inexpensive, multi-purpose and can replace a lot of speciality cleaners. "Number one, baking soda. It's not just for baking; it's one of the best natural deodorisers you can use. Sprinkle it directly into the bottom of your trash bag to keep smells under control. "For shoes, pour a little inside and leave it overnight and then shake it out in the morning to freshen them up. You can even run baking soda through your dishwasher or washing machine to get rid of lingering odours and keep them smelling clean. "Number two, microfibre towels. These are a pro cleaner's best friend. They don't just replace paper towels, they actually grab onto dust, dirt, and bacteria, instead of pushing it around. "I use them on mirrors and windows for a streak-free shine, on stainless steel to wipe away fingerprints, and on countertops for everyday messes. Pro tip, only wash microfibre towels with other microfibre items. "Lint from cotton gets stuck in the fibres, and it's almost impossible to remove. Use cool water with a mild detergent and avoid bleach, fabric softener, or scented beads because they damage the tiny fibres. If you wash them properly, your microfibre towels will last so much longer. "Number three, isopropyl alcohol. This is one of the most underrated cleaners you can keep at home, and professionals love it because it disinfects quickly. Always use 70% not 91%. "The 70% blend actually works better for disinfecting because it evaporates more slowly, giving it time to kill bacteria and germs. It's PH neutral, which means it's safe on almost every surface, including tile and natural stone. Pro tip, put a spray nozzle right onto the bottle." In her caption, she added: "3 items that can clean almost everything in your home. These are affordable, multi-purpose, and I always keep them in stock." Viewers appreciated the video and thanked Kellsie for her advice, reports the Express . One social media user said: "Love all your cleaning tips and tools. It's so easy to follow that I feel like I'm only now feeling confident in my spaces that I hated to clean." Another fan wrote: "Thanks for any the great cleaning tips!"
