'80s 'Flashdance' Star Michael Nouri, 79, Makes Rare Appearance

More than 40 years after Flashdance hit theaters and quickly became a classic, one of the movie’s stars has been spotted out and about… and looking a lot different these days! In photos published by The Sun, Michael Nouri, 79 — who starred opposite Jennifer Beals as her hunky boss, Nick Hurley, in the movie — can be seen making a rare appearance in Los Angeles as he takes his dog for a walk. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 The actor, who was dressed casually for his stroll with his four-legged friend, looks totally at peace as he and his pup enjoy the day. If you follow Nouri on social media, you already know that his dog, Charlie, is a regular fixture of his Instagram posts — and for good reason, because he’s adorable! Just days ago, Nouri also shared the cutest picture of Charlie all dressed up as a monster for Halloween. It seems like there’s a lot of love between these two! Michael Nouri’s Acting Career After Flashdance In the years since he starred in Flashdance, Nouri has continued to act, most recently appearing in Kim Kardashian‘s new series, All’s Fair. However, he hasn’t scored any roles quite as big as the one he played in the ’80s movie that made him famous, and in December 2024, he opened up on the Still Here podcast about why he thinks his career didn’t skyrocket after he found such success with the movie. Immediately after Flashdance, Nouri was set to star in a movie called Sea Trial that ultimately ended up being shelved, and in that time, he said he lost the “momentum” that Flashdance had created for him. “Hopefully, when you have one big hit, you want to follow it up with something else, something equally good or better, just to keep you out there. And that did not happen,” he said. He’s had many recurring roles on several different TV series and has continued to act — something that Nouri is still grateful for. “I went through a period of playing dads, now granddads, senators, statesmen, and so on, which I am very grateful for,” he added. “The phone is still ringing. I have wonderful agents who are keeping me out there.”
