Ever since transitioning to professional combat sports following his Olympic glory, Gable Steveson has been turning heads. Dana White, for his part, seems to be keeping a close eye on the young phenom and believes Jon Jones' protege shows much promise.Steveson was last seen at DBX 4, where he thrilled the Dirty Boxing fans with a lightning-fast 15-second KO of Billy Swanson. In September, he had made his MMA debut with flying colors at LFA 217, securing a dominant first-round TKO over Braden Peterson.During a recent appearance on The Jim Rome Show, White confirmed that the UFC was keeping an eye on the former WWE Superstar:"When somebody that's a physical freak, an incredible athlete, and a guy who has competed at the highest level, and then they start transitioning, in a combat sport like this, it is very interesting. We are definitely keeping our eye on him, and we'll see how this plays out."As UFC CEO sees it, Steveson will eventually make his way to the UFC and is primed for success, given how proficient wrestlers like Brock Lesnar once thrived in mixed martial arts. When Rome quizzed White about whether working with Jones would benefit the youngster, he said:"It is a great thing, actually. If you can get in and if you look at anybody in the history of boxing and the UFC, if you train with the best every day, those are usually the guys who become world champions."Check out Dana White's comments on Gable Steveson below:When Dana White reacted to Henry Cejudo's "b**lsy" statement about Gable StevesonGable Steveson has been on the radar of many in the MMA world for quite a few years. However, when Henry Cejudo hyped up the wrestling extraordinaire as the next big thing in MMA, Dana White seemed ever so defensive.During a 2021 episode of The Jim Rome Show, the host informed White that 'Triple C' believed Steveson could beat Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou with two years of training. White quickly responded:"Interesting, that a pretty b**lsy statement I'll call it. You are talking about two guys that, Jon Jones, obviously a legend, one of the greatest of all time, undefeated, but Jon Jones is getting older, too. So, yeah, interesting."
