Liman reportedly dismissed the $400 million defamation lawsuit, which was filed by the actor-director against Lively, Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, insisted that no deadlines were missed.In an article published on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, the Daily Mail reported that Justin Baldoni’s team have hit back at reports that claimed his It Ends With Us lawsuit against the 38-year-old actress failed to make it course at court due to missed deadlines.“The truth regarding this case continuously and completely gets distorted in the media. Even something as simple as a procedural update has resulted in a total mischaracterization,” the veteran lawyer revealed in a statement shared with the Daily Mail.Justin Baldoni’s legal team reportedly had until June 23, 2024, to amend the claims, which they did not do. Notably, Bryan Freedman also explained why his client chose not to amend his suit in the statement, adding:“At this point, we have to set the record straight: no deadlines were missed. Our clients chose not to amend their complaint to preserve appeal rights.”Meanwhile, before announcing his final judgment, Judge Lewis Liman had dismissed the case in June 2025. Justin Baldoni’s lawyer said:“In the meantime, we are focusing on Ms. Lively’s claims. We remain fully committed to pursuing the truth through every legal and factual avenue available and look forward to our day in court.”Notably, the long-running It Ends With Us legal drama began after Blake Lively filed a $250 million harassment complaint against the actor-director last December. She claimed that the 41-year-old behaved inappropriately on the set of their film.The New York Times reportedly published an expose against Jane the Virgin star, accusing him of sexually harassing Lively and claiming that he orchestrated a smear campaign against the actress. Notably, Justin also hit back with a $400 million defamation lawsuit of his own against the actress and her husband, Ryan Reynolds.Meanwhile, Baldoni’s team also subpoenaed Taylor Swift in court after claiming that the Gossip Girl alum attempted to hijack the film. His lawyers tried to obtain messages between Lively and the Grammy Award-winning singer, although subpoenas were later cancelled.According to People, Judge Liman has said that he contacted all parties on October 17, 2025, to warn them about his final judgment to conclude the case. It was also reported that Lively was the only one who responded.For the unversed, a trial for the ongoing lawsuit between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively has reportedly been set for March 2026.
