A 64-year-old legend has blasted WWE recently. The Stamford-based promotion found itself in the middle of a controversy after the firing of former talent Ridge Holland. The promotion had informed Holland that they would not be renewing his contract, which was set to end on November 14, while he was out with injury. On the Jim Cornette Experience, Jim Cornette also called out the company for its conduct. Cornette said while Holland should have ensured his financial security, WWE and TKO weren't in the clear as well."The WWE and TKO in general are a bunch of f**king a**holes because they literally can print their own money. And because they have Republican connections with the head crime family, they’re going to make a f**king fortune from now till evermore," he said.Cornette then said that the Stamford-based promotion should have told Holland that they would pay him some money to cover his expenses until he completely recovers."They can’t just tell this guy, ‘You know what, we’re not going to put you on contract because it ain’t working out, dude.' But since you're hurt and you got hurt in TNA and we told you to go there, we will give you x amount of dollars until you are able to get back in the ring so you can pay your expenses. And they'd never f**king notice it," he added.Holland suffered an injury while wrestling TNA's Moose during a taping. The 37-year-old has an impending neck fusion surgery, which is likely to keep him out of action for some time.Ridge Holland said WWE is covering his neck fusion surgeryFollowing his controversial release from WWE, Ridge Holland revealed that the TKO-owned promotion will pay for his upcoming neck fusion surgery.Appearing on the Busted Open Radio, Holland said that the company will cover the surgery and other physical therapy-related expenses.During the conversation, he also revealed that the GoFundMe campaign was launched by his family without his knowledge and will be discontinued. If you use quotes from this article, please credit the Jim Cornette Experience and give an H/T to Sportskeeda Wrestling for the transcription.
