The music world is reeling in shock after the sudden death of Zubeen Garg, who tragically lost his life in a scuba diving accident in Singapore. A voice that carried emotions beyond words has now fallen silent. From Pritam to Papon and Armaan Malik, some of India’s most celebrated musicians poured their hearts out, remembering Zubeen in heartfelt tributes.
Popular Assamese singer-composer Papon took to Instagram and wrote he was shocked. “This is so shocking! The voice of a generation! Gone too soon. At a loss of words! Lost a friend. Lost a brother. A big void. Praying for a peaceful journey of his soul,” he wrote alongside Zubeen’s photo.

Music composer Pritam, who worked with Zubeen for the song Ya Ali in Gangster, said, “Zubeen Garg, losing his life in an accident is just the most terrible and saddest news. Still trying to come to terms with it. My deepest condolences to Garima and his family. Om Shanti.”

Singer Rahul Vaidya told HT, “This is such a shock, very unfortunate for all of us in the world of music. I am still unable to process it. The loss of a precious life, especially in this way, is so sad. My prayers are with his family and loved ones.”
Armaan Malik and Vishal Mishra also took to social media and paid tribute to the singer.

Vishal Dadlani mourned the loss, writing, “I can’t believe this. My brain is in shock, my heart is shattered! #ZubeenGarg has left a void I don’t think anyone else can ever fill. He was a true megastar, a man of his people, a true lover of Assam, loved by fans to a level where their pain today is just unimaginable. My deepest condolences to his family and to everyone who was touched by this larger-than-life legend. If anyone really LIVED Rock and Roll, it was Zubeen.”

Actor Adil Hussain posted, “Devastated and shocked by the news of Zubeen Garg’s sudden death in an accident in Singapore. His contribution to Assamese music and culture is extraordinary. He will live amongst us through his songs. Dear Zubeen, I remember you with lots of love and fondness. May his singing soul rest in peace (sic).”
Zubeen Garg, the beloved Assamese singer, passed away in a tragic scuba diving accident in Singapore. Reports suggest that the singer fell into the sea while diving and was promptly rescued and rushed to a hospital. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, he succumbed to his injuries.
