The Indira Gandhi Zoological Park (IGZP) witnessed a significant turnout on the occasion of “Nagula Chavithi” on Saturday (October 25, 2025). It received as many as 9,664 visitors and generated a revenue of ₹7,60,160. Zoo Curator G. Mangamma said that all visitors were thoroughly checked to ensure that no one entered with firecrackers or other items harmful to the environment. With an increase in foot traffic, this year’s “Kartika Masam” celebrations are expected to draw more families and nature enthusiasts to explore the rich biodiversity housed at the zoo, she expressed. “IGZP has made extra arrangements like RO drinking water and seating arrangements at every enclosure to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all visitors,” she added.
