Zhamir ‘Strong’ Fundraiser Held In UK

Zhamir ‘Strong’ Fundraiser Held In UK Bermudians living in the UK joined together for a football tournament fundraiser in Coventry on Sunday [October 26] in support of Zhamir Denbrook-Pitt, who suffered life-changing injuries in a motorcycle crash. The 20-year-old sustained a severe spinal injury in a collision in St David’s in July 2023. His family and friends are raising funds to support his ongoing rehabilitation, which includes six-months overseas at a specialised care centre. Organised by Dennis Zuill, a former Dandy Town and Bermuda national team footballer, and Zhamir’s father, Justin Denbrook, the Third Annual Zhamir Strong Football Classic featured a match between Team Bermuda and Team Jamaica at the Dunlop Sports and Social Club. Team Bermuda, whose team included decorated local players such as Jahnai Raynor and Oyinde Bascome, won 7-3. The event also included a raffle, food stalls, and an afterparty. Among those in attendance were Zhamir and his grandmother, Arlene Simmons, who told Bernews: “It was a well-attended event by Bermudians in the UK and the Dunlop Sports and Social Club community. “The kids’ zone was a big hit and the raffle draw of donated gifts was fun for kids and adults. “It was really good for Zhamir to be there. He got to see a lot of his old friends, many of whom hadn’t seen him since his accident. “Every single penny we get we put towards his upcoming rehabilitation.” #BermudaFootball #ZhamirDenbrookPitt Category: All, News, Sports
