'Zero talent': Trump cheers Jimmy Kimmel’s ABC axe, now wants NBC to do the same with Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers

Hours after Disney-owned ABC pulled Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night talk show off the air following backlash over his remarks about conservative commentator Charlie Kirk’s killing, U.S. President Donald Trump lashed out at the comedian on social media. “Great news for America: The ratings-challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED. Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done. Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible. That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!!!” Trump wrote on Truth Social. ABC confirmed that “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” has been taken off the air indefinitely. According to Variety, Nexstar — which owns and partners with numerous ABC affiliates — announced that its stations would stop broadcasting the program “for the foreseeable future” and replace it with other ABC content. The decision comes after Kimmel’s monologue on Monday, where he addressed Kirk’s killing and accused Trump supporters of politicizing the case. “We had some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterise this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and will do everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said.Live Events Kirk, a prominent conservative activist and Trump ally, was shot dead last week during a speaking event at a Utah university. Police said 22-year-old Tyler Robinson fired a single shot from a rooftop, hitting Kirk in the neck. Robinson was arrested shortly after the incident and charged with murder. Following Kimmel’s comments, FCC Chairman Brendan Carr praised Nexstar’s move, saying in a statement that local broadcasters have a responsibility to uphold community standards. “While this may be an unprecedented decision, it is important for broadcasters to push back on Disney programming that they determine falls short of community expectations,” Carr said. Meanwhile, the White House announced that it will launch an initiative to combat what it calls a left-wing “domestic terror movement” in response to Kirk’s assassination. Critics have warned that the effort could be used to target political dissent, according to France 24. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio also revealed that the government has begun revoking visas for foreign nationals who celebrated Kirk’s killing. “America will not host foreigners who celebrate the death of our fellow citizens,” Rubio told Fox News, adding that those already in the country could have their visas rescinded.Add as a Reliable and Trusted News Source Add Now!
