Actor Zachary Quinto dressed as his iconic Star Trek character, Mr. Spock, on the October 27 episode of his NBC medical drama, Brilliant Minds. Entertainment Weekly reported Quinto’s Brilliant Minds character, Dr. Oliver Wolf, decided to be Spock on Halloween in Season 2, Episode 6 (“The Doctor’s Graveyard”). As Star Trek fans are aware, Quinto took on Spock’s ever-so-logical ways and pointy ears for J.J. Abrams‘ films Star Trek (2009), Star Trek Darkness (2013), and Star Trek Beyond, which premiered in 2016. The official Instagram account for ComicBook.com shared a clip that showed Quinto in Spock’s Starfleet uniform. The video, shared on October 27, also showed Tamberla Perry as her Brilliant Minds character, Dr. Carol Pierce, dressed as Spock’s USS Enterprise crewmate, Nyota Uhura. Late actors Leonard Nimoy and Nichelle Nichols originated Spock and Uhura in Star Trek: The Original Series, which had a three-season run until 1969, per IMDb. ‘Star Trek’ Fans Shared Their Excitement for Zachary Quinto Wearing Spock’s Starfleet Uniform Again Several Star Trek fans took to the October 27 Instagram post’s comments section to share their excitement about Quinto’s reference to Spock in the Brilliant Minds episode. Quite a few commenters shared that they want Quinto to return as the beloved half-Vulcan. “For a moment, I thought he was announcing Star Trek 4 from the Kelvin timeline,” stated a commenter. “I need more Zachary Quinto as Spock!!!!” commented a fan. “Yes You need to come back as Spock. Zachary Quinto Said He Would Like to Return as Spock In a September 2025 interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Quinto said he’s interested in returning as Spock for another Star Trek film. According to Quinto, he reached out to Abrams about playing the USS Enterprise Science Officer again. “I hope so. I was just emailing J.J. about something. I was like, ‘Dude, like, what’s going on? Like, it’s been 10 years since the last movie came out,'” said the actor in the September 2025 interview. “It’s one of those things that now we’ve had time away from it, and I think to come back and have that experience would be magical.” During The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon interview, Quinto also shared he’s enjoyed filming Brilliant Minds, which premiered in 2024. “We love it. It’s a great group of people. We love going to work. It’s a really good place to show up every day. And I feel really really fortunate. It’s really cool,” said Quinto.
