According to her, the main challenge for the video platform at the moment is to ensure that the audience actively watches, rather than just scrolling."From a survey conducted by Kantar, when people are on YouTube, the viewers are truly paying attention to the content and are engaged," she said.She mentioned that YouTube has now become the digital platform with the largest reach in Indonesia, surpassing competitors, including social media and broadcast television. "(YouTube) surpasses Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and even Broadcast TV," said Veronica.Google noted that the number of creators with more than one million subscribers has increased by 50 percent annually to 3,000 channels. She described this achievement as an improvement from 2015, when there was only one channel. The channel referred to belongs to the writer and comedian Raditya Dika. "These creators are the ones who make YouTube the center of global culture, meaning we call it the epicenter of global culture," she said.A Kantar survey also showed that 92 percent of viewers in Indonesia consider YouTube creators to be trustworthy, especially in helping purchase decisions.Head of Youtube Partnership Youtube Indonesia Suwandi Widjaja said that the company continues to support creators to grow and maximize the various facilities available on the platform.One of the highlighted monetization tools is YouTube Shopping, which is considered to help creators improve the quality of content and increase revenue.
