YouTube TV Makes Promise Before Eagles-Packers on ‘Monday Night Football’

On Oct. 30, YouTube TV sent a message to customers announcing its plans to remove ABC and ESPN from its platform after Disney and Google failed to come to terms on a new carriage rights deal. "In order to deliver a wide variety of sports, news, and entertainment programming on YouTube TV, we enter into agreements with network partners. Each time we renew our contracts with these partners, we advocate for fair pricing and greater flexibility to offer our subscribers the best possible live TV experience," YouTube TV said in a statement at the time. "Our current agreement with Disney has approached its renewal date, and we will not agree to terms that disadvantage our members while benefiting Disney’s own live TV products. Despite our best efforts, we have not been able to reach a fair deal, and starting today, October 30, 2025, Disney programming will not be available on YouTube TV. This means you will no longer be able to watch channels like ABC and ESPN or access recordings from these networks in your Library." YouTube TV has sent a number of such messages in the past, but most of the time the company reaches an agreement with the related media company and customers don't miss out on content. That hasn't been the case thus far. Over a week after YouTube TV's announcement, customers have now missed two full weekends of college football action and a Monday Night Football game between the Arizona Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys. With another Monday Night Football game between the Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles looming, media insider Andrew Marchand of The Athletic revealed Disney and Google are negotiating on Saturday, Nov. 8. If the two sides can't come to a deal, though, YouTube TV will finally make good in its promise of giving a $20 credit to customers. ‌"YouTube TV will offer the $20 credit to subscribers if no deal with ESPN/Disney is reached by Sunday," Marchand reported. Monday night's game between Green Bay and Philadelphia will be broadcast on both ABC and ESPN. Will YouTube TV customers finally be able to watch?
