Chelsea Bracken, 21, died at Mary Hutchinson Women's Prison, in Hobart, on Monday, with prison authorities announcing the death in custody. It remains unclear why Bracken was jailed, but court records obtained by the Daily Mail show that she had more than a hundred entries within the Tasmanian court system dating back to 2023. 'I love you so much Chelsea,' her sister Felicity wrote online. 'You didn't deserve this my beautiful sister.' Felicity later fired back at an online troll who callously suggested her sister's death would save '$560 a day' in taxpayer money that could instead go towards building a new stadium, in an apparent reference to the controversial planned construction of an AFL arena in Hobart. Chelsea Bracken, 21, died in prison on Monday She is understood to have been incarcerated at Mary Hutchinson Women's Prison (pictured) 'I don't understand how it's not heartbreaking to people that somebody has died alone in a cell, scared. 'Not everyone in jail is a sociopathic murderer and not everyone deserves to be there.' Director of Prisons Narelle Pamplin said the service had extended its condolences to the woman's loved ones. 'On behalf of the Tasmania Prison Service I extend my sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased woman at this difficult time,' she said. 'The Tasmania Prison Service will not be making any further comment as the matter will now be referred to the Coroner for examination. 'This is standard practice whenever a death occurs in a corrections environment.' The Daily Mail understands Bracken lived in Victoria's Gippsland area as a teenager before later moving to Tasmania. Bracken has dozens of court entries over the past two years in the Tasmanian Court system She is pictured making a gun symbol with her hand in a post on Instagram from June 2023 Photos posted online in recent years show her spending time with friends, going out for meals, and celebrating mates' birthdays. Mary Hutchinson Women's prison is a minimum security facility in Risdon Vale with around 45 beds. As her family comes to terms with the tragedy, friends have also flocked online to pay their respect. 'Rest easy Chels. We love you,' one friend said. 'RIP. Forever 21,' another wrote. 'I'm sorry Chelsea B,' a third posted. 'Rest peacefully my sweet angel.
